Update
Well, the second wedding went very well. I haven't got time for the last video tonight, and we're headed back to Toronto tomorrow, so I will put it together and post it as soon as I get back.
Well, we may not have had internet access for a couple of days, but that's okay since we didn't do too much anyway.
We spent most of Thursday just driving, after eating Saskatoon berry waffles at The Berry Barn. If you're ever going to have Saskatoon berries, then Saskatoon would be the place. They were very good. Like blueberries, only prarie-er.
We arrived in Drumheller just in time for the rain. We didn't get to spend a lot of time in there, unfortunately. We spent most of the time getting some much-needed rest, but did take the time to check out the giant dinosaur!
Then we took off for Canmore. As previously stated, the Rockies are big and beautiful. It was hard to drive while staring at them with my mouth open.
We've been having some trouble getting on the internet in the last couple of days, which is why you haven't seen anything. We're going to try to have something up for you soon, so just sit tight.
We're in Canmore and we're having a great time. The Rockys are just that. They're rocky. Big rocks. Big, beautiful rocks. Canmore.
Today we visited Wanuskewin Heritage Park. It was very interesting and had a fantastic facility that would make any interpreter jealous. We got to participate in a tipi raising and some cool dancing. There are also walking trails through beautiful lands. It's no wonder this was a meeting place for so many for many years.
In the evening we visited the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. Being used to the Toronto Fringe, we did not expect what we found. We found that several blocks of Broadway had been blocked off for The Fringe, and that all the shows were pretty much within those few blocks. In the streets there were food and souvenir vendors (Mmmm...Street samosas) and plenty of busking! The Toronto Fringe (which, I personally find a baffling ordeal) could learn a few things from the Saskatoon Fringe.
We saw two shows:
1. Giant Invisible Robot, about...well, a Giant Invisible Robot that destroys things and the people surrounding it. It was a one-man show and it kicked ass. There were only a couple dozen people in the audience, which was unfortunate for such an awesome show.
2. The Package it Came in. This was a mock corporate presentation about recylcling and corporate over-packaging. A great 50-minute show packaged into 65.
Well, this was the big day. We got to see the Saskatoon Exhibition Parade, and then the Ex itself!
The parade had a lot of stuff in it, but one float (that you will see in the video) was the coolest I had ever seen. It was a War Amps float featuring...ASTAR THE ROBOT! Astar can put it's arm back on, but YOU CAN'T! So cool.
The Ex itself was a lot of fun. We saw pig races, lumberjack show-offs and acrobats. The food was great (I love corndogs!) and the whole atmosphere was one of excitement. Good job, Ex!
Today we headed to Saskatoon, but we decided to make a stop at North Battleford to visit the North Battleford Historic Site. We're glad we did! It was a very interesting tour (Thanks to Drew, our tour guide) and we got to see things go boom. We also got a free mug for filling out a questionnaire. Value!
Saskatoon is a beautiful city. We took a short walk along the Saskatchewan river and were blown away by how pretty it is. We celebrated by eating ribs at Tony Romas! I'm also very excited about breakfast at Denny's tomorrow (My love of Denny's is well documented).
We're going to be spending a few days here in Saskatoon, so you can look forward to videos with far less driving shots in them! (And far less of our buggy windshield)

CORRECTION- That should read Fort Battleford National Historic site, not North Battleford. Ahem.
Well, after a fun BBQ reception for the new bride and groom, we were off (on our own) to Saskatchewan.
After seeing the World's Largest Ukrainian Pysanka, we headed over to Lloydminster, Canada's only border city, between Alberta and Saskatchewan. We sampled the local cuisine (Boston Pizza), and then settled in for a good night's sleep.
Yesterday, Kristin and Darell tied the knot amidst much fanfare (Fans and Fare). It was a lovely ceremony and the reception was top-shelf.
Between the wedding and the reception, Betony managed to spot a garage sale. So we went. They didn't have much, and it was a little over-priced, but Rob managed to get a small radio for two bucks. It had four AA batteries in it, which was worth more than the two bucks. Awesome!
While we waited in the airport lounge to board our flight, there were two people waiting near us with their carry-on luggage: Two boxes that read, "Live Lobsters." I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if they got loose on the plane! Call Samuel L. Jackson!
We arrived in Edmonton at about 11:30pm local time (1:30am body time). It was raining, but we didn't get too wet. We got our rental car from two hard-working gentlemen at the rental counter who liked to entertain us with the funny names of some of the people who rent cars from them (they even pulled the names up on the computer screen for our amusement). Luckily they left my name alone. Mr. Focker and Mr. Assman weren't so lucky.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep you updated about all our crazy shenanigans throughout the trip (that will likely be crazier than airports). So far so good!
Well, we're leaving tonight around 9:30PM Toronto time. We're going to take the TTC express to the airport, which apparently doesn't take too long, which is good.
We're flying WestJet, and discovered that you can check in online 24 hours before your departure, so we are actually already checked in and have chosen our seats. What a time to be alive!
I hope to have some video up here as soon as possible, but I'm not sure if there's internet access in our first hotel, so we'll have to wait and see. If not, I'll post them when I can (Our hotel in Saskatoon does have internet).
